A Couple’s Date Night Ended in One of America’s Most Brutal Crimes

On January 6, 2007, 21-year-old Channon Christian and her boyfriend, 23-year-old Chris Newsom, were preparing for an ordinary date night in Knoxville, Tennessee.

They planned to watch a movie before attending a friend's birthday party.

Channon was a sociology student at the University of Tennessee, while Chris was a former athlete known for his calm and dependable personality.
